Pre-Kindergarten Music & Movement

GREAT JOB PRE-K!!!
Pre-K students did an AWESOME job in our music program on Friday! I was very proud of all thier excitement and enthusiasm in the program. GREAT JOB!

It is AMAZING to see all the fun stuff we have been doing in Music & Movement!

* We have been singing and learning about many new MOVEMENT WORDS.
* We played a giant dice game using many of our new words!
* We had a super obstacle course on which we jumped OVER, ON and UP and DOWN and MORE with our first JUMPING DAY!
* We also had another obstacle course with some JUMPING as well as some NEW challenges! We had 2 balance beams, we had to crawl UNDER some purple noodles and got another turn jumping on the trampoline!
* We have been running, galloping, walking tip-toe, jumping and even walking BACKWARDS!
* We played soccer kicking games and kicked still and rolling mini soccer ball
We've taken a stairs field trip to practice going upa nd down the stairs with one foot on each step
We had fun juggling and catching pumpkin balloons!
Yee-Haw! We have been galloping around on stick horses!

Parents: Tennis shoes provide for the best safety and support in Music & Movement as well as on your child's daily trips to the playground. Please remember those tennis shoes everyday!

Kindergarten and Pre-First

Hello to all my Kindergarten and Pre-First friends!

Merry Christmas! We are busy working on our annual Christmas program! Be sure to check your calendars! Our program will be on Friday, December, 11th at 1:15 in the St. Martin's Church! There will be many songs celebrating our families and the Thanksgiving season. Then, our Pre-1st friends will portray the characters in the Nativity story and our kindergarten students will be our musical narrators for this moving program. You don't want to miss this!

Our November/December Composer-of-the-Month is wonderful composer whose music is often well known to children. Peter Tchaikovsky composed the beautiful music for The Nutcracker! We will take the opportunity to learn about the ballet as well as Tchaikovsky's beautiful music. There are many opportunities in Atlanta to take your children to see "The Nutcracker". Check out the links on this page to several Atlanta theatre venues.

We are having fun with lots of locomotor skills like running, walking backwards, galloping, walking on tip-toe and sliding side-to-side. We juggled and caught balloons and we've been kicking soccer balls all around the room! We also got to ride stick horses around the room with our song, "Riding on a Horse to Grandmother's House!
